Fat Loss Minimalism: Keep It Simple To Succeed

Hey, Mit here and today I want to talk a bit about fat loss, and more precisely about why most people fail to shed the fat and develop a leaner, more athletic physique they can be proud of.
Nowadays, we live in the information age, meaning that in today’s day and age we’re constantly bombarded with information, some of it useful but most of it just plain distracting and unnecessary.
That being said, there’s never been a better time to have big goals and dreams because all the information you need in order to achieve them is readily available to you. All you have to do is go to big ol’ Google and you’ll get all the knowledge you need in order to achieve pretty much any goal within reason.
That, of course, is a double-edged sword because having too much available information leads most people to a state of information overload.
Do I do intermittent fasting? Maybe I should try the keto diet instead? Or what if carb cycling is better?
Article after article and video after video just get you into a state of information overload which is a very unresourceful state to be in. After all, even dropping down for a set of push ups would probably aid you more in achieving a leaner physique than reading articles and watching videos on training and nutrition all day just to end up even more confused by the end of it all.
So what do you do then? How do you fight off information overload and actually achieve your goals? I’m glad you asked!
Obviously, you simply can’t read all the articles and implement all the techniques and strategies – you only have so much time in a day, right?
That’s why, if you’re newer to all of this you might find great benefits in adopting a minimalist approach toward fat loss.
Focusing on the most important tasks at hand and minimizing distractions such as fancy new techniques and methods can save you a ton of time and mental energy.
After all, when you break it down, fat loss really isn’t that complicated.
Fat Loss Minimalism in Action
First off, in terms of nutrition all you need to do in order to start losing weight is to enter a state of negative energy balance, i.e. eating less calories than you’re burning on average. If you eat until you’re full and you’re currently maintaining your body weight, when you decide it’s time to finally deal with the excess fat in the beginning all you need to do is to start eating until you’re only 80% full.
The other 2 things you’d need to be preoccupied with in regards to nutrition would be protein and micronutrient intake. If you were to once again simplify your job by applying fat loss minimalism, all you’d need to do to ensure that you’re consuming enough protein is to make sure that you’re eating protein with every meal.
In other words, just pick one protein-rich food for each meal, have 1-2 palm-sized portions with your meals, and your protein intake is set. As for micronutrients, have 1-2 fists of vegetables with every meal and you’ll do just fine. The rest of your meal would be your dietary fat and carb intake.
There, your nutrition is all set up.
As for training, just pick a training program that has you doing resistance training 3 times per week.
Also don’t forget to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night and drink 2.5-4 liters of water per day.
And voila, your training and recovery are all set as well.
That wasn’t so hard now, was it?
It really is that simple – as long as you focus on the basics you’ll do just fine.
Ultimately, if you stay consistent with these very simple guidelines, you’ll makebetter progress than if you were to fail to be consistent with more advanced approaches.
And that’s the point. It’s not that more advanced approaches don’t work. It’s just that they’re for more advanced athletes who have an actual track record of being consistent with simpler methods.
Once you can do the basics consistently, then you can look to more advanced methods for further progress.
For now, keep things simple – and enjoy the results!
